American investment fund GACP completed the takeover of Bordeaux last November.
Today’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe claims the change of ownership has not created any trouble to the club’s salary policy and their new owners have ensured they are not afraid to invest.
This is when the report explains the Ligue 1 outfit were ready to ‘go crazy’ to strengthen the squad in the winter market as they wanted to sign Adrien Silva from Leicester City.
It’s explained the Portugal international has long been a target for Bordeaux and including salary and the loan fee, the French club were willing to pay €2.5m to the Foxes in order to take the midfielder on loan for five months.
Unfortunately for Bordeaux, Silva didn’t join them as he made a switch to AS Monaco and as a part of the deal, Youri Tielemans moved to the King Power Stadium, where he will be on loan until the end of the season.
Silva’s move to Monaco is temporary and it should be seen if Bordeaux will come back for him in the summer.
A future at Leicester is pretty much ruled out if Claude Puel continues at the club.
