Leeds United’s Diego Llorente arrived at AS Roma on a loan deal with an option to buy in the winter market.

The centre-back, who initially struggled for game time, has been a key part of the Serie A side’s defence, where they have conceded one goal from the last four games.

Roma can buy the Leeds owned player by exercising the €18m purchase option. This figure was deemed excessive earlier and again pointed by Giallorossi.net in their latest report.

With regards to the 29-year-old’s future with the Giallorossi, it’s claimed Roma chief Tiago Pinto is ‘already in contact’ with Leeds.

The report adds they don’t intend to pay €18m to the Whites, but are ‘ready to negotiate’ a lower fee to buy the defender in the summer.

Llorente, for his part, is ‘happy to stay’ at Roma, which he had already confirmed earlier this month. His goal has always been to convince Mourinho and Roma to buy him.

With Pinto already opening talks with Javi Gracia’s side, it’s down to Roma and Leeds to find an agreement for a fee less than €18m so that Llorente can seal a permanent exit from Elland Road.
