Sansursuz Futbol journalist Altan Tanrikulu claims Fenerbahce are considering signing Aston Villa’s Trezeguet, and that the Turkish side are set to make a loan offer.
Trezeguet has been heavily linked with a return to Turkey in the past few months, with Fener’s arch-rivals Besiktas and Galatasaray are also said to be interested in his services.
Tanrikulu says Fenerbahce’s new sporting director Emre Belozoglu wants to sign a goalscoring winger this summer and Trezeguet is currently topping his list.
Fenerbahce president Ali Koc said this week that they are looking to sign a foreign player who has some experience in the Turkish Super Lig, and Trezeguet fits the bill.
The 25 year old’s agent William D’Avila last month suggested the player could leave Aston Villa if Dean Smith’s side didn’t maintain their Premier League status for next season, and a return to the Super Lig is on the cards.
Villa signed Trezeguet from Super Lig club Kasimpasa at the start of the season for €10m, and the Egyptian has made 35 appearances in all competitions.
He’s has also scored four goals, whilst providing three assists, and his contract runs until the end of June 2023.
