It isn’t every day that a rumour is pretty much confirmed by a club less than 24 hours after it was published, but in the case of Yeni N’Gbakoto, that’s what Guingamp have done.
On Wednesday, L’Equipe published a story claiming the Ligue 1 side were considering making a move for the QPR winger, currently struggling for game time under Ian Holloway, and it made sense.
Guingamp are currently struggling with injuries in the offensive department, and, with the former France U18 needing to play football, there could be a deal to be made with the Championship side.
Later that day, the club’s president spoke to Ouest-France, and all but confirmed the fact his club were after the QPR forward.
When asked about the story, he said: “We know him, and he is indeed a good player, even if there are plenty of other good players out there”.
Currently 8th in Ligue 1, the small French club will want to ensure their good form continues in the second half of the season, and they’ll need someone of N’Gbakoto’s profile to help them achieve that.
With little keeping him at Loftus Road, and a contract running out in just over a year, there’s every chance the DR Congo international could leave in January.
