L’Equipe have again brought Chelsea into the picture for Thomas Lemar.

The French newspaper recently dragged Chelsea into the Lemar transfer chase, throwing them alongside Arsenal and Liverpool as English clubs said to be seriously interested in the AS Monaco player.

Those claims have led to countless stories in the English media, and now L’Equipe touch upon it again. Stating that interest in Lemar has expanded since the summer, and then naming Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as the expansion, L’Equipe ponder if Monaco could again refuse an offer of around €100m for the France international.

Whilst Monaco don’t want to sell during the January transfer window, and their stance on the matter is said to be ‘firm’, L’Equipe suggest an ‘offer which cannot be refused’ could secure the player for Chelsea or other interested clubs.

That offer would surely have to be around €100m, and probably more, to be considered ridiculous enough to justify a January sale. Whether Antonio Conte and Chelsea interest is real or for drama, such an outlay would be a surprise.
