Every update we see about Tiemoué Bakayoko’s impending move to Milan suggests the deal is getting closer to completion.
The latest comes from TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Serie A side and the agents of the Chelsea player met on Tuesday, with the whole affair being ‘positive’.
The chat allowed the two parties to ‘further define’ the offer to put forward to the Blues, and they ‘got closer again’.
The next step in this late deal are ‘contacts between tonight and tomorrow’ with Chelsea themselves in order to ‘close the negotiation’ for the player’s return to Milan.
Bakayoko knows the San Siro club well, having spent a season there back when Gennaro Gattuso was in charge, where he ended up impressing.
This was followed by two loans at AS Monaco and Napoli, with neither seeing the player replicate the form he managed to put together at Milan.
That’s why there’s hope a return could see him put himself in the shop window for next year, either with Stefano Pioli’s side buying him at the end of the loan with an option to buy, or someone else swooping in for him off the back of the current campaign.
