In the past few days, we’ve been covering stories which say that Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Newcastle United would all be interested in Real Betis star Junior Firpo.
Now the English press has linked the player to Arsenal as well, and Spanish outlet El Desmarque was quick on having a story responding to the rumour.
The website claims Betis’ idea is to keep Junior at least until next summer. Besides showing his wish to stay at the La Liga side, the left-back has recently signed a new deal which includes a €50m release clause.
And Betis are not only planning to keep Junior, as they also want to sign a second option for the position, since he’s the only one who can perform at left-back at a high level.
So it sounds like Arsenal, Palace, City and Newcastle would have to break the bank for the player in the winter market, and work hard to convince him too.
Otherwise, they better wait until the summer.
