Dillon Hoogewerf will be leaving Ajax in the summer transfer, and he’s expected to join Manchester United.
Ajax have announced via their official channels that the 16 year old has decided to leave the club. They’ve wished him well, but made it very clear it’s something they regret, having wanted to keep the talent developing with them.
Saïd Ouaali, the Dutch club’s head of youth development is quoted by Voetbal International as saying: “We know we have done everything we can to keep him. Ultimately, the choice is up to him and he opts for a foreign adventure.”
Ajax have been fighting hard in recent years to retain their best youngsters and it’s largely proven to be successful, so seeing the back of Hoogewerf will be considered a blow.
Voetbal International and others in the Netherlands report the player’s destination is ‘probably’ Manchester United, and that’s something which had been mentioned earlier on Thursday by social media accounts which cover the Eredivisie club.
Dillon Hoogewerf is a two footed attacker and he’s represented the Netherlands at U15 and U16 levels.
