On May 23rd, we carried a report from Sport, who explained Matthijs de Ligt had turned down Manchester United’s initial offer a few weeks ago.

It was also explained the Red Devils had since ‘significantly improved’ their offer and given an ultimatum to the Ajax star to respond to their latest proposal.

Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo has a ‘Top Secret’ report on the 19-year-old and while explaining the defender has not accepted Barcelona’s proposal, it’s claimed the star has an ‘offer’ from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side .

Bayern Munich and Juventus also get a mention as it’s states the two clubs have also made offers for the Netherlands international.

Some of the offers are better than what the La Liga winners are willing to pay the centre-back and for this reason, the teenager has decided to ask for an improved deal from the Catalan club.

According to the report, Barca are unwilling to meet the player’s demands, while the Dutchman is also standing firm.

Mundo’s report echoes what was claimed by Sport on Thursday regarding an improved offer from Manchester United, and with Barcelona not planning to meet the demands of the player, it should be seen if the Premier League side can take advantage of the situation.

Over the past few years, clubs and agents have used United’s name to extract better deals for their players.

Fans of the English club will be eagerly hoping that isn’t the case with De Ligt.
