Samir Nasri’s arrival at Sevilla is a big deal for the Spanish club. At his entertaining best, Nasri is excellent and can contribute an awful lot to a top squad, and its first team.
Coming on a late substitute against West Ham, Nasri was excellent and his performance was so good that many assumed it would see him stay in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
That wasn’t to be and Sevilla beat off a lot of competition to sign the player.
Spanish newspaper AS say the club’s sporting director Monchi was asked about Nasri’s ‘scattered personal life’ and replied: “I’m not a cop. My relationship with the players is based on trust.”
AS explain that Monchi has rehabilitated several players, with the latest example being Ever Banega, who has now left the club after rediscovering his best form.
Nasri now has every chance to be another ‘miracle of Monchi’, but the Frenchman playing well wouldn’t really be quite so miraculous… because he’s already shown he’s in good form.
