On Tuesday Argentine newspaper El Dia explained why Juan Foyth still hasn’t signed for PSG, despite the French club agreeing a fee with Estudiantes.
Foyth isn’t thrilled about moving to the Ligue 1 side, and has had his heart set on Tottenham.
When Spurs were negotiating to sign the player last month, Mauricio Pochettino spoke to Foyth, and the 19 year old defender was left convinced of a future at Tottenham.
Then PSG came more forward, and Tottenham walked away from a potential deal. Foyth has dragged things out as long as he possibly can, giving Tottenham every chance to return with an offer.
El Dia explained that Foyth’s desire meant Tottenham were brought back into the race, even if Spurs hadn’t actually done anything.
On Wednesday it’s reported by the same newspaper that Estudiantes are ‘in communication’ with Tottenham and other European clubs, in case Foyth completely snubs PSG.
As it stands, without Tottenham doing anything about Foyth’s desire to join them, a PSG transfer is the likelier option, but a quick swoop from Spurs would change that.
