The William Carvalho to West Ham saga has been so intense in the past couple of weeks that the Portuguese newspapers don’t bother publishing big splashes about it anymore.

The only outlets who write about it today have short paragraphs about the situation, and they say that things shouldn’t drag on for much longer.

Record claims West Ham don’t want to wait anymore. They’ve already reached an ‘agreement in principle’ with the player and now expect the talks to be over soon.

West Ham offered €32m plus €5m in bonuses, but Sporting want €38m upfront and continuewaiting for the new offer. The deal would give Sporting 10% of a future sale as well.

A Bola reports the negotiations are still ongoing, but taking some time because Sporting keep trying to get as much money as possible out of West Ham.

That’s really no surprise.

A Bola say the talks should have ‘definitive developments’ this week, and even claim the Portuguese club are already preparing for the player to give a farewell to fans.

William Carvalho has been reportedly close to leaving Sporting previously, so until the midfielder is confirmed by West Ham, there’s a myriad of things which could go wrong… most of them to do with Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho and money.
