When reading about Galatasaray fullback Sacha Boey, it’s common to see Arsenal mentioned in the stories from the Turkish media, as the Gunners are said to be one of the contenders for his signing.
Earlier today, we even covered claims which said Arsène Wenger stepped in to help the London side with the transfer.
As Fanatik today features a new story on Boey’s future, there’s a new mention of Arsenal, but for an entirely different reason this time.
The outlet writes that as Galatasaray are now looking for a new right-back, they made a move for Gunners’ player Cedric Soares.
The 32-year-old’s contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the season, and he’s seen as a ‘surprise’ target at this stage of the transfer window.
It’s claimed that Galatasaray aren’t the only Turkish club trying to take Soares to Turkey, as the story claims Besiktas are interested in him as well.
The Portuguese player only has a couple of appearances for the Gunners this season, and it’d be no surprise to see the club letting him walk before the end of his deal.
Maybe even including him in a deal for Boey wouldn’t be a bad idea.
