Over the course of the summer, Nottingham Forest wanted a new midfielder, and targeted Guido Rodriguez, currently at Real Betis.
They were unable to convince the Spanish side to let their star go, and he eventually stayed put for the first half of the season.
They have since tried to tie the Nottingham Forest target down to a new contract, since his current deal expires at the end of the season, and will make one last, big attempt to get him to sign, according to ABC Sevilla.
The outlet recall that ‘previous attempts to convince’ the Argentine to extend ‘have not been successful’, and there is no guarantees they will manage to do so now.
He previously rejected offers from the La Liga side and to leave, with his wife pregnant at the time, as both Nottingham Forest and Lyon tried to sign him, but their offers were ‘insufficient’.
It’s reported that the Tricky Trees put €10m on the table, but with his contract situation the way it is, a January move could be on the cards if Real Betis want one last chance at making some money from a transfer.
