River Plate are willing to negotiate a deal for youngster Pablo Solari if Crystal Palace decide to revive their interest in the January transfer window.
That’s according to TyC Sports, who say the Argentine side are willing to do a deal below the €20m release clause in the player’s contract.
They explain that several teams from Europe are following Solari, who has been shining for River Plate since his arrival from Colo Colo in July 2022.
Crystal Palace were one of those to show an interest and the possibility of a move ‘had arisen’ earlier this year, with reports suggesting that they would make a $15m offer for him. That idea, though, ‘came to nothing’.
Their interest has not gone away and a recent report from Argentina indicated that they were once again considering a $15m move for the forward.
TyC don’t back that up on this occasion but do report that should any club come forward, River Plater are willing to do a deal.
They have Solari tied down to a deal until 2026 and that includes a release clause of $20m, which is considered ‘onerous’. But those in charge at the club have been keen to outline that ‘the amount is negotiable’ and a deal can be done for a number similar or close to that figure.
Whether that lures Crystal Palace into a concrete move remains to be seen but it is certainly possible that they can get their man for around the figure they were initially looking at.
