Over the past few weeks, Nottingham Forest have emerged as a potential suitor for AC Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers, who is on loan at AS Roma right now.

The Belgian has done well during his stint in Rome, scoring six times and picking up four assists.

Giallorossi sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has given a clear sign of Roma’s liking for Saelemaekers and it would appears clubs such as Nottingham Forest will have to hurry in their move for the winger.

He told DAZN, as relayed by MilanLive: “He is happy with us and we are happy with him. We want this transfer.”

There has been talk that he would like to stay at the Giallorossi beyond this season but the task will be far from simple.

Tuttomercatoweb’s Nicolo Ceccarini has stated that Milan want a fee of €20m to sell Saelemakers.

This has made sure that the situation is at a ‘standstill’, even if Roma intend to use Tammy Abraham in their move.

The report states that Nottingham Forest are making a ‘strong move’ for the Belgium international and they want to take advantage of the current situation.

It remains to be seen which direction the saga takes but MilanLive are also of the opinion that Nottingham Forest’s presence in the top four can prove to be crucial.

Roma are outside the top four in the Serie A and if things stay that way, their chase of Saelemaekers will be impacted.
