According to Turkish newspaper Star, Besiktas will make another attempt to bring in Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.
Nicolas Isimat Mirin has been linked with a move to French side Amiens in this transfer window and Star report Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci is keen to sign Mangala to solve his defensive problems.
Avci is looking to sign a left footed defender and Star say the Manchester City outcast is an option at this stage.
It’s reported the Super Lig are looking to the loan the player for next season and talks with the Premier League champions are set to continue in the coming weeks. However, given Mangala’s contract situation it’s likely the Premier League side would instead be looking at a free transfer.
Mangala would undergo a thorough medical if an agreement can be found, given the serious knee injury he picked up whilst on loan with Everton during the 2017/18 season.
The former France international’s contract with City will expire at the end of June 2020.
