Napoli are ‘betting strongly’ on Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele and his arrival at the club doesn’t depend on the sale of another midfielder, according to Sunday’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 25-year-old is not included in Antonio Conte’s plans at the north London club and could leave them for the second time in this calendar year.
It’s explained the Serie A side have made progress on several incoming deals and the ‘most important acceleration’ was with the negotiations with Tottenham for the midfielder.
Spurs are open to loaning the Frenchman this summer and the formula needs to be discussed whether it will be a dry loan deal or with an option/obligation to buy.
Rumours from the UK stated Ndombele is already in Italy to negotiate with the Serie A side, but Gazzetta claim ‘that’s not at the point at the moment’.
He earns €8m net per year at Spurs and it is something that Napoli cannot afford to meet.
In this regard, the report states the Premier League club should intervene. It seems like there is openness from Tottenham, but there are several issues to be sorted out before a deal is done.
