Estadio Deportivo, a Seville sport newspaper, report Malaga have lost hope of keeping Sandro Ramirez.
The in-form striker has repeatedly been linked with Tottenham over the past week, with Mauricio Pochettino interest said to go back some way, and several other English clubs have also been dragged into the equation.
The reason for Estadio Deportivo’s interest is that Sevilla are also keen to sign Sandro, and they state: ‘In Malaga they know that some club will pay it (Sandro’s €6m release clause) and they have even given up the offer of renewal.’
It must be noted that the Malaga sport media aren’t so sure, believing there’s a good chance Sandro could be convinced to stay at the club, for at least another season.
Tottenham would surely have a good chance of signing Sandro should Pochettino push the club to meet the clause. Daniel Levy would be thrilled with such a deal, given the 21 year old’s potential rise in value, and the player wouldn’t be too hard to impress with wages.
There are arguments for Sandro to stay at Malaga, but he wouldn’t have insisted on such a low release clause if he wasn’t already eyeing the future when he signed.
