Tottenham Hotspur finished the recently concluded season in fourth spot and that sees them return to the Champions League.
Spurs will now shift their focus to shaping up their squad for the next campaign and one of the players they are looking at is Alessandro Bastoni.
For the past few days, various reports in Italy have insisted that Tottenham Hotspur have interest in the Inter Milan player.
Earlier reports have stated the north London club have contacted the defender’s agent and are ready to make an approach for him. There seems to be a development on this front if a report from Calciomercato is to be believed.
Antonio Conte has identified the centre-back as ‘one of the most important targets’ for Tottenham Hotspur’s defence this summer. The ex-Chelsea boss has given a mandate to Spurs chief Fabio Paratici to contact Inter, to test the ground, ‘before making a real offer’.
It’s claimed the Premier League side have ‘already contacted’ Simone Inzaghi’s side for the 23-year-old.
The Nerazzurri ‘listened to the interest of Tottenham’ in Bastoni and replied that an offer of ‘no less than €60-70m’ is needed for them to sell the Italy international this summer.
This is said to have made Spurs ‘retreat’.
