Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes’ future now lies away from the Camp Nou as he continues to attract interest from Spain, Italy and England.
Mundo Deportivo reported on Sunday that Arsenal manager Unai Emery had asked the Gunners to sign the Portuguese international. On Monday, the same publication suggested the former Sevilla and PSG coach has urged the north London club to seal the deal for the 24-year-old.
Today’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport claims Gomes’ former club Valencia are also interested in re-signing the player in the summer transfer window, along with Juventus.
Arsenal and Juve are said to have made offers for the player, although those approaches don’t reach what Barca want. The Catalan club are ready to lose money on Gomes but want a package which would reach €20m including bonuses.
A separate Sport claim, on the newspaper’s Tuesday page 3, claims Barcelona are ‘more interested’ in selling Gomes to Arsenal over Valencia because the English club would be willing to pay more than the Spanish outfit.
