Celtic could face an upcoming transfer situation with Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutchman moved to the club from Manchester City’s youth system in 2019. He only turned 20-years-of-age earlier this month, yet he’s already a regular in Neil Lennon’s side.
Given he has a contract with Celtic lasting until June 2023, there’s not a huge amount of pressure on the Glasgow club when it comes to selling, so the Bhoys can pick a value and stick to it.
Il Messaggero report that AS Roma have made contact with Marco Abreu, who is the agent representing Frimpong. Abreu also counts Paulo Fonseca among his clients, who just happens to be Roma manager.
That provides a road in for the Serie A side, but it doesn’t mean they can expect a favourable response from Celtic.
According to the claims from Italy, the Scottish Premiership side have told Roma it’ll take €15m if they want to sign Frimpong, and that’s a fee which, for now at least, is too high for the club.
