On Tuesday, Bild stated Tottenham Hotspur have initiated contact with Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner to become Antonio Conte’s permanent successor at the north London club.
Conte is still in charge at Spurs but he’s unlikely to continue there beyond this season, if various reports in England and Italy are to be believed.
Another report from Bild relays Tottenham’s interest in Glasner and then provides more details on his future at the Bundesliga side.
The 48-year-old, who guided the German club to Europa League success last season, has a deal until 2024. Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche offered him a new contract until 2026, which included a rise in salary from €2.1 to €3m per year.
Glasner has turned down the renewal offer and Bild state he could ‘earn a lot more’ in the Premier League, where Tottenham are interested in him.
If the Austrian leaves Eintracht Frankfurt, they have identified Borussia Dortmund U19 coach Mike Tullberg as his possible successor.
Even though Tottenham are in picture to sign Glasner, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg explained on Tuesday that he ‘takes his time’ to decide on his future.
