Bought for £30m in the summer, Ayoze Pérez was always going to be a recurring name on Brendan Rodgers’ team sheet at Leicester City, and that’s exactly what happened.
During the course of the first three quarters of the 2019-20 season, the Spaniard was a starter in almost 75% of their Premier League games, making 25 appearances, scoring seven goals and assisting another four.
These performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and Fichajes.net explain Sevilla, under the guidance of Monchi on the transfer market, are taking an interest in his services.
It’s explained Pérez’s name is one that has ‘been sounding with the most strength’ to bolster the right hand side of the attack, and while they know he has been a main part of Rodgers’ plans, they hope of ‘maintaining contacts with the English team in the coming weeks’.
By doing so, they would like to ‘reach an agreement’, although it would have to be one larger than the one Leicester originally made with Newcastle United last summer.
It’s worth pointing out that while Pérez did choose to stay in the Premier League when moving between the two clubs, the player did tell Binter Canarias’ inflight magazine last summer that he wanted to play in La Liga if he could.
That because he has so far ‘never done it’, only having the chance of featuring in La Liga2 with CD Tenerife before his move to St James’ Park in 2014.
Sevilla would certainly give him that opportunity…
