Renan Lodi has decided it’s best for him to leave Atlético Madrid for Nottingham Forest and the Spanish club have ‘accepted’ it.
That’s according to AS on Sunday, who state the left-back and the two clubs are finalising a transfer to the Premier League side.
Nottingham Forest came forward and their negotiations, likely with Atlético, accelerated yesterday and ‘everything is about to be closed’ now.
The Tricky Trees will sign the 24-year-old on a temporary deal and the last issue that needs to be resolved is the loan fee and the figure for the purchase option.
It’s claimed Steven Cooper’s side will pay €5m to Los Rojiblancos for Lodi’s season-long loan deal and the buying option is reportedly set at €30m. They are also finalising the terms of the contract for the player.
Diego Simeone’s side face Valencia on Monday and are set to start training today from 9:30am.
The Brazil international is ‘no longer expected’ to train with the club and will not be part of the squad to face Los Ches because ‘everything should be finished in a matter of hours’.
Nottingham Forest have signed Harry Toffolo and Omar Richards in July and Lodi will have to compete with the duo for the left-back spot at the English club this term.
