Andreas Pereira may be close to joining Valencia on a one-year loan from Manchester United, but there are fans from some other club hoping he would join them.
As reported by Globo Esporte today, Santos supporters have been spamming the midfielder’s social media accounts asking him to sign for the Brazilian club.
Santos have just sold Thiago Maia to Lille, and as the club’s biggest star Lucas Lima is having his contract expired at the end of the year, it’s very likely they will need a midfielder.
The reason why they picked Andreas Pereira is because the Manchester United player has said many times he’d like to join the club if he plays in Brazil one day.
Despite being born in Belgium, he’s the son of a former Brazilian footballer and has been called up for Brazil’s youth squads.
But Santos’ dream is far from happening. Despite it being confirmed by Sport Witness’ sources that Pereira still hasn’t been given the green light to move to Valencia, the player is close to joining the La Liga side and should remain in Europe for one more year.
Pereira’s contract with Manchester United expires in 2018, but has an option to be extended for a further year.
