In recent days there have been claims in the Turkish media West Bromwich Albion are keen to sign Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza, after an offer was made by the Premier League side.

These reports have now filtered through to the Brazilian media, following West Brom’s bid for the 28 year old.

Globo Esporte have reported on the Baggies pursuit of Souza, and it seems the midfielder would welcome a move to the Hawthorns.

It’s claimed by the Brazilian media outlet that Souza is encouraged about the prospect of joining West Brom because he would gain more visibility if playing in the Premier League.

Souza still has ambitions to again play for the Brazil national, and signing for West Brom could give him this opportunity. The Fenerbahce player has represented his country on three occasions, but his last appearance came in 2015.

Like the reports in Turkey, Globo Esporte also report West Brom’s first offer has been turned down by the Turkish giants.

Despite West Brom’s initial offer being rejected by Fenerbahce it seems from the reports in Turkey and Brazil something between the two clubs is definitely happening.
