Since the start of the rumours saying Watford don’t want to sign André Carrillo permantly, the Portuguese press has been quite worried about it.

Since the player had a good start of loan for the Hornets, the thought in Portugal was that the Premier League side would certainly want to have him at the end of the season, and therefore, Benfica would make around €20m with the sale.

But now that this possibility is no longer certain, local papers start to wonder what will be of Carrillo’s future in Lisbon. Still yesterday, they claimed that he will be welcomed at the Estádio da Luz again, even though the club are still not sure if they will keep him.

Now today, as A Bola writes about the players who can have their price increased in the World Cup, they say that Carrillo is a ‘special case’.

As they recall that the player has lost his role at Watford since the departure of Marco Silva, they claim that the Hornets don’t seem keen on keeping him, and that’s why a good World Cup would help him finding another club.

That makes it clear that Benfica are not that keen on having the Peruvian international either, and are probably very hopeful that any bid comes in the summer.

And that continues to be a very good reason for Watford to get Carrillo on a bargain.
