As Brazilian side Fluminense are going through a difficult financial time, they now expect Watford to help them get out of it.
Website UOL has a report today explaining the biggest debts the club have, which includes employees who haven’t been paid for four months, and players with salaries delayed as well.
Now two of the main incomings that Flu are expecting both come from Watford. One of them is just a matter of time, since the Hornets still need to pay part of the profit they made when selling Richarlison to Everton.
Fluminense sold Richarlison to Watford on a €12.5m move in 2017. In that deal, it was agreed that the Brazilian side would have 10% of the profit from a future sale. Everton paid €50m to sign Richarlison this summer, which means that €3.75m should go to Flu.
The other deal is for Fluminense youngster João Pedro. Even though the deal hasn’t been confirmed, UOL say the striker will be a Hornet, just like many other Brazilians outlets have been writing.
This agreement will help Fluminense to settle a debt with Udinese, as they haven’t paid the Italian club for the transfer of Marquinho yet. As the Pozzo family owns both Watford and Udinese, the expectation is to solve the case in just one deal.
So the quicker Watford move, the more thankful Fluminense will be.
