According to claim in the Italian media, Fiorentina are distancing themselves from signing Manalo Gabbiadini in this transfer window.
The player has been linked with a move back to Serie A this summer, but it seems Fiorentina have another target in mind.
TMW report the Southampton player isn’t the type of player Fiorentina need to be bringing in ahead of the new season. It’s claimed Juventus attacker Marko Pjaca is now the Serie A side’s prime target ahead of Gabbiadini, but they need to convince the Turin club over a deal.
Juventus want to sell the Croatian international on a permanent deal whist the Viola want a loan deal, with a right of redemption.
Only last week Gabbiadini’s agent said his client would be staying at Southampton next season after being linked with Bologna and Lazio earlier in the window.
When Gabbiadini joined Southampton in January 2017 there were promising signs. The player scored on his debut against West Ham, and then followed this up with two goals in the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
However, he struggled for goals last season and found himself in and out of the team.
