Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa have today congratulated their vice president Ivan Bravo on taking up his new role at Leeds United. Yesterday it was announced the former Real Madrid executive would join the board at Leeds United.
The Leon club have released a statement on their website saying they are proud their owners Aspire Academy have extended their influence into English football with Leeds United. They reconfirmed Bravo has now joined an historic club like Leeds United, where he will take up his post on the club’s board.
“The Cultural and Sports Leonesa is proud that our owners, Aspire Academy, extends its approach into English football, with our director general and vice president of the Cultural and Sports Leonesa, Iván Bravo, now on the management committee of the historic club Leeds United.”
Despite Bravo being drafted in by Leeds United it’s been reported he will remain with the Aspire Academy. Two months ago Bravo extended his contract with Aspire, and will therefore not relinquish his positions with the organisation or the Spanish club. Aspire was set up in 2004 to help develop Qatari athletes.
The Spaniard will become an adviser to the Championship side, and yesterday he was welcomed to the club by Leeds United co-owner Andrea Radrizzani.
