Earlier this month we covered reports from Greece that Celtic are interested in signing AEK’s goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas in the next transfer window.
It was claimed the Greek club are looking for a fee in the region of €7m for the 25 year old as Celtic, with it being claimed manager Neil Lennon wants to bring in a goalkeeper in the new year.
Sportime.Gr have reported on Celtic’s latest developments regarding the player and they say AEK sporting director Ilija Ivic is planning to sell the Greek international in the next window. They report the Athens clubs are looking to raise funds to bring in new signing and Barkas could be one of those sold.
The Greek website again report Celtic are one of the clubs who showing an interest in Barkas and AEK are waiting for offers for him.
Barkas has made 10 appearances for AEK this season and has kept three clean sheets. He is under contract with his club until June 2022.
