Two days ago, we relayed news from Italy that Liverpool are looking at Marcelo Brozović and the Inter Milan midfielder’s agent was contacted by the Reds.
Reports coming out of England have also talked about the Merseyside club wanting the 27-year-old.
Calciomercato takes a look at one of the claims made in the British press, where they state the Anfield side want the Croatia international, and then they provide their own update.
Brozović earns €3.5m per season with the Nerazzurri and his agent is looking to improve that after his client enjoyed a good season under Antonio Conte’s guidance.
The player has a €60m release clause in his contract at the San Siro, which is valid until 2022.
According to the report, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta would take a decision on whether to retain Brozović or decide to cash in from his sale in the summer, if any club decide to meet his asking price.
The Serie A side, however, have not received any offers for Brozović and despite the rumours of Liverpool’s interest in him, Marotta ‘does not tremble’, states Calciomercato.
Brozović has three goals and five assists in 23 league appearances for Inter this season.
