After yesterday’s revelation that Toulouse had overtaken Monaco for the signing of Giannelli Imbula from Stoke, talk of planes being sent around Europe has emerged.

According to Yahoo! Sport journalist Manu Lonjon, the Ligue 1 side have ‘chartered’ what we can only assume to be a private jet to pick up the former Marseille star ahead of his loan move back to France.

The aforementioned principality club were said to be waiting to get rid of a few players in midfield before pushing the move for the Stoke player over the line, but they just took too long, according to SFR Sport on Tuesday night.

Signed for a club record fee a year and a half ago, the 24-year-old never managed to fully convince Mark Hughes to start him regularly at bet365 Stadium.

This was exemplified this season by his lack of appearances on the bench for Stoke, suggesting a move away from the Premier League was well underway.

Since his arrival from Porto, Imbula has made 28 appearances for the Potters in all competitions, scoring two goals.
