Bayern Munich are again talking about how much they paid to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

This time speaking to Sonntags-Stammtisch, via Sky Deutschland, club honorary president Uli Hoeneß didn’t mind giving details about the transfer.

“We only spent €95m,” he said.

This is once again a clear snipe at the reports which said Bayern Munich paid Tottenham over €100m for the striker. Especially because this isn’t the first time a club chief comes out to the media just to say they didn’t spend as much as claimed.

Last week, it was Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer who told FAZ they are not paying Tottenham over €100m unless some performance bonuses are triggered.

Transfer fees are normally not commented in that way by club chiefs, and this seems like a plan from the Bundesliga giants to insist Kane was signed in a great deal for the club.

Since arriving at Bayern Munich, the striker has nine goals and five assists in 10 appearances, and is clearly meeting all the high expectations which surrounded him at the time of the transfer.

Bayern Munich couldn’t be prouder of the business they made, although these repeated comments may start to get irritating, especially if Tottenham believe the claims aren’t accurate.
