Brazilian side Palmeiras have made an approach for the signing of the Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez, according to the local press.
It’s ESPN and Yahoo journalist Jorge Nicola who reports the chase, but was also quick on killing the possible rumours.
According to the report, the signing was soon ruled out when Palmeiras learned how much Sanchez earns at the Red Devils.
Although the São Paulo side are probably the richest club in Brazil these days, their best paid star makes less than a sixth of what Sanchez currently earns at United.
Nicola writes that although Sanchez could leave Manchester United this summer, he should head to an European club who can afford his wages, or perhaps make a move to China.
Despite concerns about his fitness situation, Alexis Sanchez managed to feature in Chile’s first game in the Copa America, and also managed to score a goal in the 4-0 win over Japan.
