The European press still gets quite confused when writing about the Premier League competition for Anderson Talisca.
Even though Manchester United have been heavily linked to the player in the past few days, clubs like Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers often get a mention in these stories.
Today, newspaper Tuttosport claims that Roma are very interested in the Benfica midfielder, and are now trying to understand the conditions for a possible summer deal.
But they apparently fear the competition from Liverpool. Because according to the newspaper, if the Reds are ‘really’ ready to spend €40m, then Roma wouldn’t have a big chance to land him.
These claims only take a couple of lines in the story you can see attached, so it’s not taken as a big deal. That’s why it’s hard to know if Tuttosport learned that Liverpool are about to bid, or if they’ve just read it somewhere else.
If we had to guess, we’d go with the second option here. First because Liverpool’s interest has gone cold for a while, and second because a €40m bid has already been claimed as Man United’s.
