On Friday morning, both the Dutch and the Mexican media had a few stories about Vincent Janssen’s possible move to Monterrey.
These articles all give credit to Record, who on Thursday night, published a story saying the club have been in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign the Tottenham Hotspur striker.
We’ve taken a look at the story, and although it does say that the player could be close to moving, it doesn’t really show a lot of confidence.
Record says that according to claims from England, Janssen isn’t wanted by Mauricio Pochettino. That would make his arrival to Mexico easier, since Monterrey would accept to pay US$8m for him.
However, the story is full of coulds and woulds, with Record never making it clear if the information is directly their own.
They also don’t bring an article in today’s issue of their newspaper, so it doesn’t look like a story which should be taken very seriously for now. But let’s keep an eye on it.
