According to claims in the Swiss media, Leeds United have completed a deal for Lugano attacker Ezgjan Alioski.
The Macedonia international has been linked with the Championship side over the past week, and if the claims are accurate it would be Leeds United’s second major signing in a week, following the arrival of Mateusz Klich from FC Twente.
Ticino News report Leeds United have signed Alioski, despite interest from other clubs. Serie A side Atalanta, and Bundesliga sides have been linked with the 25-year-old this month, but it’s been claimed Leeds United have won the race to sign the player.
However, there is doubt on these reports with no official announcement as yet from Leeds United or Lugano. Ticno News say their claims have come via British sources, but it’s not been confirmed whether this was from their contacts or reports in the English media, the latter of which don’t exist.
Earlier this month it was claimed a deal was close for Leeds United to sign Alioski, but things then went quiet on a switch to Elland Roard, and the transfer appeared increasingly unlikely.
Alioski was impressive for Lugano last season, which brought him to the attention of clubs like Leeds United and Atalanta. The attacker scored 17 goals and made 14 assists last season.
