Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün claims West Bromwich Albion are set to rival Lazio for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi, and that the Baggies have made a move for the 26 year old.
Muriqi has been heavily linked with a move to Lazio after claims their sporting director Igli Tare has arrived in Istanbul to finalise a deal for the Kosovo international.
However, Süzgün says West Brom are still in the picture for the player and that they’ve submitted an official offer.
Previous reports in the Turkish press said West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is keen to bolster his squad and has identified Muriqi as a prime target.
The Croatian coach has connections in Turkey after managing Besiktas between 2013 and 2015. During his spell at West Ham, Bilic loaned two players from the Turkish Super Lig in Gokhan Tore and Emmanuel Emenike, so this is helping the rumour along.
Muriqi has scored 17 goals for Fener in all competitions this season and is under contract with the club until June 2023.
