With Unai Emery having just arrived at Aston Villa, it’s inevitable that the Spanish media starts wondering about the players he’d like to bring to the Premier League side.
Outlet La Razon features a piece about that today, claiming that the Villans now prepare a ‘millionaire’ investment to please their new manager.
The website names three players who Unai Emery would like to bring to Aston Villa, all coming from his former club Villarreal.
The first of them is Nicolas Jackson, who’s already been recently linked to the English club.
It’s said he was a very important player for the manager in Spain, so it’s not strange he’d like to have him by his side again, and it’s pointed out his release clause is €30m.
There are then two other names. The first is Pau Torres, whose contract expires in 2024, and is protected by a €65m release clause.
It’s recalled that many Premier League clubs already tried his signing, and Emery could help Aston Villa to win that race, but it remains to be seen if this is the next step he wants to make in his career.
The final name is the one of Yéremy Pino. He recently renewed his contract with the Spanish club, now with a €80m release clause, and that’s how much Villarreal could ask in case Aston Villa or any other come for him.
Should this all be true, and we doubt it, and Aston Villa go for all three, that’s a total of €175m needed to trigger all three release clauses, which is a lot of money, but considering how Emery left the La Liga side, we doubt they’ll be in a mood to give the Villa Park side any discounts on the transfer market.
