With Sevilla’s Jules Koundé rejecting an opportunity to join Tottenham Hotspur, the north London club and Fabio Paratici must look elsewhere for a new centre-back.
Spurs looked at Milan Škriniar last summer and are still believed to be interested in the Inter Milan player.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the Serie A winners could consider making another important sale [to invest in new signings] after having sold Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain.
The defender could be among them and for him, the website says Nuno Espírito Santo’s side ‘would have sent a proposal for the Slovak to Piero Ausilio’s table’.
Furthermore, TMW state that it’s ‘not excluded’ the 26-year-old could be the one to leave the San Siro this summer.
Another Italian outlet Calciomercato also explain the English club are ‘lurking’ for the ex-Sampdoria man and after last summer’s failure, they could ‘try again’ to sign the player.
This time, though, there’s an ‘extra admirer’ with Paratici’s arrival in the English capital.
The Slovak ‘will is clear’ and that’s to continue at Inter and ‘doesn’t intend to move’ away from Milan.
In other words, ‘Tottenham thinks of Škriniar, but Skriniar thinks only of Inter’.
So, TMW state the defender’s sale isn’t excluded, while Calciomercato explain Škriniar doesn’t want to leave the Italian champions.
Who will be right?
