There’s nothing more the Catalan media love than winding up Real Madrid and setting the club up for a fall. That sees them continually link the capital club with big targets and explain how and why a move is possible.
Later on down the line, it can then be furher explained that Real Madrid failed to make a signing, rather than there being no realistic chance of making the transfer in the first place.
This is where Tottenham Hotspur come in, and this weekend Sport report that Real Madrid have a good opportunity to move for one of Harry Kane or Christian Eriksen, who it’s claimed they’re interested in.
Sport claim that Spurs are currently suffering from negative ‘economic issues’, and they tell their readers this is why Mauricio Pochettino’s side didn’t make any signings during the Premier League transfer window.
The issue is related to Tottenham’s new stadium and the cost of the project, according to the Catalan claims, and they need to raise some cash quickly… hence Kane and Eriksen presented as being achievable.
