Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dellow Sport covers various free agents who may be interesting Italian clubs.

Some big name footballers are ‘looking for a home’, and that gives clubs around Europe, even in countries where the transfer has already closed, the opportunity to sign them for no fee.

That doesn’t mean the transfers are always a bargain, and Gazzetta insinuate that’s why Yaya Toure hasn’t found himself a club yet. The midfielder left Manchester City at the end of his contract in June, and the Italian newspaper claims the latest club to approach him about a signing a contract has been West Ham.

Gazzetta don’t say when the West Ham approach was made for Toure, simply saying they were the most recent.

Despite the midfielder earlier saying he’d sign for a Premier League club for a token wage, just to show he’s still got it, that doesn’t appear to be the case in reality, and is likely why the Hammers and others have been tentative.
