Earlier today we covered claims from Spain of Everton and Leicester City interest in Zenit’s Sardar Azmoun.
Everton have been linked at times previously, but over the past week it’s been West Ham pushed out ahead. There’s Spanish interest because Sevilla are also keen on the player.
There now come claims from Italy which are genuinely intriguing and suggest where the whole thing is coming from.
Napoli have been linked repeatedly, and AreaNapoli report the club’s sporting director Christian Guintoli is in contact with Zenit, but they don’t want to match the €30-35m asking price.
Therefore, the player’s agents have been looking for opportunities in England. It’s claimed that having seen Everton and Arsenal linked with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard, Azmoun’s agents have offered their player to both sides.
They’re hoping Everton or the Gunners will bite, but this very much looks like a case of agents pushing a player to English clubs, rather than them going for him directly.
Azmoun, a striker, has scored 14 goals in 29 matches for Zenit this season, and added seven assists.
