At this point, it seems that Tottenham are after every available striker around Europe.
Take Wednesday, for example, where we had updates from around the continent regarding Spurs’ attempts to sign a Harry Kane backup involving names such as Arkadiusz Milik and Haris Seferovic.
There’s also a third in the shape of Habib Diallo, currently at FC Metz in France, who also appears to be on Tottenham’s list.
At least, that’s what various members of the French media would have you believe, with a report earlier this week claiming a move to London was a ‘priority’ for the player.
This came from L’Equipe, and the same newspaper on Thursday reiterate this, although they do add ‘it might not be reciprocal’, suggesting Spurs might be looking elsewhere for the time being.
However, and it’s a big one, local outlet La Semaine have it differently, claiming Diallo, who sat on the bench for the entirety of his club’s 2-1 win over Stade de Reims at the weekend, is ‘close to a move to Tottenham’.
We’ll have to wait and see, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Daniel Levy and co. were working on multiple deals at once, keeping their options open just in case they can’t get their top target.
If one fails, it’s onto the next, and so on.
Diallo is likely on there, with reports of a Spurs interest dating back to last December, but he’s probably below, let’s say, Milik in the order of preference.
