TRT Spor’s Besiktas journalist Firat Gunayer has claimed Everton have made a move to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

Yesterday, we covered reports from the Turkish press that Everton are insisting on Vida and the Premier League club are hoping their relationship with Besiktas will work in their favour.

The Toffees signed Cenk Tosun from the Turkish giants in January.

Gunayer says Everton have made their first offer for Vida, which is thought to be in the region of €13m, but this was tabled with the via an agent and not directly to the club.

The Turkish journalist has given no indication whether Besiktas would accept this offer, but yesterday there were suggestions the Turkish club were looking for bids in this region.

Vida has been linked with a move to Everton in the past six months after their reported attempts to sign the central defender before his free transfer to Besiktas in January. Leicester City and West Ham have also been linked with the Croatia international.

It’s possible an agent is trying to build a deal to then present to Everton and others.
