At the end of the last month, we carried a report from L’Equipe, who claimed Crystal Palace are interested in signing Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont in the summer transfer window.

Their report mentioned the Eagles had made ‘multiple contacts’ with Lafont and were leading the race to secure the 19-year-old’s signature.

Today’s edition of the French newspaper has reiterated the teenager’s links to the Premier League club.

Toulouse are set to sign a new goalkeeper this summer as Dijon’s 27-year-old stopper Baptiste Reynet has emerged as a priority target for the Ligue 1 outfit, His move to Stadium de Toulouse could be completed soon.

Lafont played 3420 minutes in the league over 38 matches last season. Reynet’s arrival would result in competition for a place in the first team and the teenager could no longer be first choice goalkeeper at Toulouse.

The report claims Lafont held talks with Crystal Palace a few weeks ago, and the player is keen on a transfer.

Palace are not the only club interested in signing Lafont. PSV Eindhoven have gathered information about the player, while Fiorentina are also interested in signing the Toulouse starlet.

Reynet is expected to have his Toulouse medical today, with the club wanting more experience in their team, and this make Lafont’s exit all the likelier.
