One of the stars of the show at Leicester City over the past couple of seasons, Youri Tielemans could be set for a big move away from the King Power Stadium in the near future.
The Foxes will clearly want to keep the midfielder around, and have been trying to tie him down to a new contract, but that still hasn’t been signed, with the player currently at the Euros with the Belgium national team.
Expiring in 2023, Tielemans’ current deal leaves Leicester with a little bit of breathing room, but failing to renew him soon could see them forced to sell next summer, as he would be entering the final 12 months.
Liverpool have been said to be very interested in the Belgian, but Juventus are also on the case, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Mentioning Tielemans’ contract situation, the newspaper state the Serie A side, now managed once again by Max Allegri, are trying to take advantage of the ‘openings’ left by the uncertainty surrounding the player’s future.
They are trying to ‘fit’ in them alongside Liverpool, knowing full well the Reds being there puts them at a slight disadvantage, such is the financial difference available to the two sides.
Either way, Tielemans is the ‘new name’ on Juventus’ transfer strategy for their midfield, which won’t fill the owners, board and fans with a ton of confidence, as the longer the list of suitors grows, the more temptation there is for the talented 24-year-old.
