With just 652 minutes played in the Premier League this season spread out over 18 appearances, Nicolas Pépé certainly isn’t one of Mikel Arteta’s favourite players to work with at Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international has never really justified his £72m price tag since his arrival from Lille, and many expect the 26-year-old to eventually move on from the Emirates

Whether that happens this summer or the next remains to be seen, though, as he still has a contract with the Gunners until 2024.

There might be a team ready to give him a go, however, which could be the idea Sevilla are pushing forward.

This comes from Super Deporte, who report Monchi is ‘already preparing the departures and registrations’, and the director of football has a desire to ‘create a more competitive team’, which is why the La Liga side have ‘sounded out Arsenal to acquire the services of Nicolas Pépé’.

It’s suggested the Sevilla chief ‘will bet on him as long as the price asked by the Gunners is not exorbitant’, and it’s pointed out that Lucas Ocampos, who is expected to leave the summer, ‘could be part of the operation’.

That’s because Arsenal ‘have been interested in the Argentine in the past’, although whether that’s still the case remains to be seen.
